If you want to know the facts about climate change research, don't look here. Crichton is a novelist, and a good one, but not an authority on climate change. Nearly all the crises that occur are completely far fetched. Its implication that there is a conspiracy among scientists is also crazy.
I really hope he will read it. This is one of the best books I've ever read. However, it was a Christmas gift for my son in law.
If you are a confirmed liberal, who hopes to live off the tax bounty of cap and trade and EPA regulation, you won't like it. State of Fear is a prophetic, evaluation and expose of money-tainted, secretive climate change science and scientists, who are in league with liberal causes to scare the public with threats of impending inundation, hurricanes, violent earthquakes and mayhem. All this is wrapped in a fast-moving, Hollywood-style, epic story, which is a good read.
